Fort Myers, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2024) – Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers experienced a busy July, with 677,137 passengers passing through its terminals. This marks a 1 percent increase compared to July 2023 and represents the second-highest July traffic in the airport's 42-year history. Year-to-date, passenger traffic has surged by 17 percent.
Delta Airlines led the way in July, serving 161,168 passengers. Following Delta, the top five airlines at RSW were Southwest Airlines (136,984 passengers), American Airlines (114,344 passengers), United Airlines (94,212 passengers), and JetBlue Airways (54,330 passengers).
Aircraft operations at Southwest Florida International Airport totaled 5,688 for the month, a 3 percent increase compared to July 2023. In contrast, Page Field, another local airport, recorded 12,764 operations, a significant 20 percent decrease from the same month last year.
In 2023, Southwest Florida International Airport served over 10 million passengers, earning its place among the top 50 busiest airports in the United States. Notably, the airport operates without the use of ad valorem (property) taxes for its operations or construction projects.
